I Am still in summer clothes

I am loving Texas autumn weather.  I am sitting here in short sleeves, ceiling fan on, wondering if I'll be too warm in my jeans.  It is November 10, but the grass is still green, the trees are just barely turning, and the windows are open.  This time last year, I was in Utah.  I was already breaking out my winter coat.  The leaves on the Alpine Loop had already fallen from the trees, and we had already seen snowfall.  This year, as I trick-or-treated with my little friends, I noticed that they were perfectly comfortable without coats or undershirts.  My childhood Halloweens in Connecticut were often disrupted with my mom making me wear a long sleeve shirt under my Belle dress or a coat over my tiger costume effectively killing the looks (I know - what is with me and looking like a tiger?). Texas weather rocks...except for the Christmas music thing.  I wait all year to listen to my Christmas music.  I love it so much, and there is a limited window to enjoy it.  I hear some people grumble that they're sick of holiday music by the time Christmas rolls around, but I am not one of those people.  I mourn the day the Christmas piano music goes back in the trunk, and the Christmas CDs are moved out of the car.  A few days ago, I deemed it seasonally acceptable to listen to my Christmas playlist in the car.  Don't judge me - it's after Halloween, and I didn't force anyone else to listen to it!  I hit play on the Ipod and this filled my car: Oh, the weather outside is frightful!  But the fire is so delightful. And since we've no place to go, let it snow.  Let it snow.  Let is snow."  After about 30 seconds of that, I hit stop.  I just couldn't do it.  I couldn't listen to "Let it snow" when it was 80 degrees outside.  So, I guess the weather has it's drawbacks: it severely impedes on my Christmas tunes time.  I still wouldn't trade it for Utah or Connecticut weather!
